About the Edge IoT Technical Solutions Consultant

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) Edge IoT is seeking to identify highly motivated and qualified individuals for an opportunity as an Edge IoT Technical Solutions Consultant in the Alpharetta, GA area.

You’ll have opportunity to work on the products we deliver and support, while gaining experience as a Technical Solutions Consultant which can lead to future careers within HPE.

This is a full-time position with an Alternate Work Schedule. The person in this role will work a flexible schedule, likely consisting of working hours of 11 am to 8 pm, Tuesday through Saturday. Shift assignments are subject to change dependent on the needs of the business.

In this role, as part of a larger team, you will provide remote (offsite) service, support, and customer access in pre-sales, post-sales, and service delivery environments. The technical teams’ focus is to solve various business systems and applications problems for customers, onsite engineering personnel, and Authorized Service Providers on standard, specialized or complex systems.

In this position, you will:

  • be based in Alpharetta, GA. No relocation assistance available.

  • work a flexible schedule, likely consisting of 11 am to 8 pm, Tuesday through Saturday


In this role, you will:

  • Successfully resolve technical issues (hardware and software) from incoming internal or external businesses, as well as end user contacts and proactive notification systems

  • Respond to service, product, technical, and customer-relations questions on subjects such as features, specifications, and repairs on current and discontinued products, parts, and options, based upon customer entitlement (warranty through mission-critical)

  • Proactively assist internal or external businesses and end users to avoid or reduce problem occurrence

  • Evaluate unique or complex installations or configurations and make recommendations for resolution

  • Articulate clearly in writing and verbally

  • Add case resolutions to our Knowledge Management System (KMS)

  • Represent company in face-to-face customer location visits, industry conferences/trade shows, vendor meetings, etc.

  • Engage team members for support as required to ensure internal or external business and end users/clients service level agreement (SLA) demands are met

  • Develop partnership with and assist the Sales Pursuit team

Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; technical discipline ideal

  • 2+ years’ experience troubleshooting wireless networking issues using knowledge of OSI layer

  • Without a degree, an additional 2+ years’ experience wireless networking troubleshooting experience, for a total of 4+ years

  • CCNA certification preferred

  • Working knowledge of Aruba networking ideal

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English language

  • Experience troubleshooting in a technical environment

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

  • Software and hardware knowledge of computing, storage and peripheral devices

  • Advanced proficiency with case management databases and tools

  • Superior customer service skills

  • Phone and remote support experience

  • E-support experience and knowledge

  • Ability to understand and be an advocate for the customer
