The Central Scheduling Representative communicates with patients and staff to accurately schedule patients for prescribed procedures.
Gathers necessary demographic and clinical information from patient and enters into appropriate database. Seeks appropriate resources to resolve issues about the type, date or location of prescribed procedures.
Schedules patient procedures in a manner that most efficiently utilizes the patient's time and clinical resources.
Assists with coordination of activities related to insurance pre-certification/authorization.
Provides counseling to patient or patient's representative regarding pre-service requirements and instructions.
Required to schedule in multiple scheduling systems and access patient information in the electronic health record throughout the system.
HS or Equivalent
High School graduate or equivalent required. Previous education in medical terminology and completion of an Anatomy and Physiology class strongly preferred.
- Minimum six (6) months of experience directly applicable to the primary work required. One (1) year of experience preferred.
