Job Summary

The Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice (CRCJ) at The University of Texas at Arlington (UT-Arlington) seeks to fill one tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The position will commence in August, 2017.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The standard teaching load is five courses per academic year (typically, 3/2), although this load may be modified by the Chair pursuant to grant funding or significant service assignments.

Required Qualifications

An earned Ph.D. in Criminology, Criminal Justice, Chemistry, or Biology is required. ABDs will be considered, particularly those in the final completion stages of the dissertation. Candidates must provide evidence of excellence in research, teaching, and service, as well as potential for, or record of, funded research activity. Applicants should be qualified to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in criminology and criminal justice. The area of specialization should be Forensic Science, Crime Scene Technology, or Biosocial Criminology. Applicants should have experience in lab-based courses, with the potential to teach courses offered via our minor in Forensic Science/Crime Scene Technology.
