Job Purpose (Job Summary):

The Senior Trading Technology Developer will play a key role within Invesco’s Global Trading Technology team. The candidate will join a global technology team whose mission is to collaborate with Invesco’s Global Trading function and help build and support Invesco’s future state trading infrastructure and platform, supporting all asset classes traded globally. As a senior developer the candidate will be expected to help design and deliver components, processes and applications that enable Invesco’s traders, trading management and trading quantitative researchers to achieve their stated goals and objectives. The senior developer candidate must have the excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with traders, business management and technology professionals.

Key Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Collaborate with global teammates and business partners to refine requirements, design, develop, code, and test a variety of strategic components/processes/applications that will empower Invesco traders and trading quantitative researchers with best-in-class trading solutions
  • In depth knowledge of SQL to execute Data Extraction and Transformation
  • Ability to complete Data Analysis, Data Aggregation and Modeling
  • Collaborate with Global Trading Team to identify requirements and develop trading algorithms, market data calculators, visualization tools, alerts, and other solutions that address their workflow needs
  • Conduct rigorous quality assurance testing and manage releases to minimize instances of impact to the Trading team
  • Follow software development policies and procedures
Qualifications

Work Experience / Knowledge:

  • 5-7 years development required, financial services experience preferred
  • Proven ability to learn Investment Management and Trading processes
  • Expert level knowledge of Java and SQL is required
  • Knowledge of Python, OneTick and R is preferred but not required
  • Experience with full participation in software development methodology: Scope, Requirements, Design, Development, Testing, Deployment
  • Proficiency in Test Planning and Execution

Formal Education:(minimum requirement to perform job duties)

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in technical or quantitative such as Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, Math, Statistics,Computer Science etc
  • CFA or MBA preferred but not required

License/Registration/Certification:(minimum requirement to perform job duties)

  • Oracle Certified Java Programmer preferred
