Title: SharePoint BA
The SharePoint Business Analyst is a key role in the linkage of the technical aspects of SharePoint with its application to specific uses at the Institute. The analyst will work with all departments to fully round out concepts and ideas that the departments have into working solutions in the SharePoint environment. The analyst has a deep understanding of SharePoint and can advise when the solution can be created from the "out-of-the-box" components; when a development skills would be needed to create a solution and when SharePoint is not the right platform to implement an idea.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Elicit and analyze business processes and requirements from technical and non-technical teams and convert business requirements into system functionality within the SharePoint framework.
Define, architect and implement solutions within the SharePoint/ Office 365 framework.
Help facilitate SharePoint adoption by end users by interacting with clients throughout project lifecycle.
Serve as the technical and functional subject matter expert for SharePoint solutions internally.
Assist SharePoint administrators to investigate, analyze, document, and correct reported defects.
Create and maintain technical documentation.
Contribute in improving organizational processes and policies.
Develop custom tailored SharePoint workflows and business process automation.
Assist in the development of Dashboards and understanding the capabilities provided by the built-in toolsets such as Excel Power Query, Power BI, Access.
Assist in the development of training documentation, and provide training when requested.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong customer interaction skills and ability to understand and document customer needs from a business solutions perspective, highly approachable.
Deep expertise in the following: Microsoft SharePoint (2013 or higher), Office 365, SharePoint Designer, Nintex Workflow.
Experience working with the Site Collection Administration menus and functions, excellent understanding of how SharePoint permissions are configured and maintained.
Experience configuring web parts, navigation, best bets, and other advanced features in Site Administration.
Experience and understanding in the use of Content Types, Site Columns and custom lists.
Ability to communicate conceptual and detail designs to business customers and development team.
Keep current on the changes in Office 365 as they pertain to offering business customers new solution opportunities.
Must be able to work independently with little supervision
- Five years of progressively responsible experience in enterprise-level SharePoint design and implementation with a focus on the design, development, and delivery of SharePoint solutions - involved in all stages of the project lifecycle.
- Work with business customers at all levels of the organization, independently and on project teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or Business related field preferred.
Understanding of REST API calls and their use.
Understanding of SharePoint migration tools and limitations.
Knowledge of PowerShell.
Occasionally reaches and grasps with arms or stoops and bends
Frequently uses hands for repetitive data entry
Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are few physical discomforts due to dust, dirt, noise and the like
Occasional travel required
Must occasionally work long hours and during weekends or holidays as required
