Great Dane Parts Associate in Birmingham, Alabama

Great Dane Trailers is currently accepting applications for a Parts Associate.

Job duties include a wide range of responsibilities to ensure the successful operation of our Branch Parts Department. The Parts Associate is responsible for inventory control, customer service, executing part ordering administrative tasks, and other duties as assigned by the Parts Manager.

Responsibilities:

Initiate parts and accessory sales to branch customers

Pulling customer orders

Pricing service estimates

Ordering parts for service work orders

Posting parts to service work orders

Checking deliveries and shipments before departure to ensure order accuracy

Assist with Inventory Management

Routing delivery trucks efficiently

Safe driving of company vehicles

Maintains an effective working relationship with management, mechanics, customers and vendors

Assisting in all phases of parts department operations as needed

Other parts department duties as assigned

Other branch duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred

Years of Experience: 1-2 years of parts experience, preferably in the trailer industry

Valid driver's license

Excellent customer service and communication skills

Good computer operations, data entry, and Microsoft Word/Excel skills

Excellent organizational and filing skills

Ability to work on multiple tasks with varying deadlines

Experience answering phones in a professional and courteous manner

Ability to lift 50 pounds

Ability to work with power tools

Work environment: Hours of work on site usually coincide with the Day shift. The work schedule requirement is 8 hours per day, 5 days per week.

Work is split between a closed door environment and open air environment with varying temperature exposure to heat and cold.

This is a low-moderate noise environment with moderate safety hazards and requires personal protection equipment.

Work time is spent in an open air shop environment.
