Office Depot Paralegal - Employment Litigation in Boca Raton, Florida
Prepares draft responses for discovery matters in pleadings, interrogatories and requests for admissions.
Summarizes depositions, arbitration transcripts, index arbitration decisions and briefs.
Interviews witnesses to gather legal information or confer with personnel in other departments and outside the organization while performing research or other legal responsibilities.
Reviews and prepares written summaries of regulations or legislative bills.
Represents the Company in hearings before Administrative Law Judges in proceedings relating to the deposition of benefit claims.
Assists attorneys with complex caseload research, subject and topic research and briefings of court cases.
Assists attorneys with complex and/or sensitive arbitration hearings by preparing meeting minutes, organizing and assembling exhibits and maintaining files.
Associates degree in Paralegal Studies or Business Administration or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 2 years of practice in a private law firm or corporate law department.
Broad knowledge of the principles of judicial and administrative process, legal knowledge of research procedures and use of the Law Library.
Proficient communication and PC skills.
