Trust and Investment Assistant - Charles cityFirst Citizens Bank is accepting applications for a full-time Trust and Investment Assistant in our Charles City location with strong customer service skills. The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent required with AA or BA degree in business/finance preferred; work experience with a brokerage firm or related financial services company performing administrative functions; proficient clerical skills that include transcription of taped dictation; and have or obtain both the FINRA Series 6 and 63 licenses within twelve months of starting the position; Series 7 license preferred.The ideal candidate will: Open client accounts, processes trades, organize client files, maintain trade/security blotters, and conduct researches. Prepare necessary forms for the disbursement of funds and securities transactions in accordance with bank policies. Coordinate and interface with Operations to ensure that statements and remittances are sent out correctly and on a timely basis. Have day-to-day account responsibility for various transactions including receipts, disbursements, and transfers. Handle all correspondence for Broker and Trust Administrator; screens mail and take initiative to handle all routine matters. Handle accounting support functions, including opening and closing accounts, cash processing, and account maintenance. Establish new accounts on Brokerage system, set-up files, and prepare appropriate notices. Compile and provide information for reports and special projects to present to management. Provide transition to electronic files with the use of scanners and document templates consistent with current electronic files. File, photocopy & obtain info needed by Registered Representative and/or Trust Administrator. Type correspondence and reports from tapes, written and verbal sources. Explain products, processes and market-related information to current and potential clients. Initiates and completes all required documentation on successful sales. Initiate documentation involving cancellations, surrenders and/or partial withdrawals. Complete buy and sell orders. Provide customer service with information and assistance by telephone, mail, and in office. Maintain department schedule by maintaining calendars for department personnel. Proactively establish appointments and conferences. Comply with Securities and Exchange Commission regulations plus state and local requirements and practices by acting in accordance to existing and new legislation. Provide transcription and dictation. Maintain professional and technical knowledge. Maintain client confidence and protects FCB operations by keeping information confidential. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Participate in civic and community activities to generate visibility and contact for FCB. Attend mandatory compliance and security sessions.
