Tech Data - US Accountant I in Clearwater, Florida
Assists in daily and monthly accounting processes. Completes various account analysis and/or account billings. Identifies researches and resolves items impacting the financial statements. Provides training and guidance to fellow team members and provides support to management.
Application of customer payments. Minimizing unapplied cash, overpayments and short payments.
Assists in the preparation of various account analyses and reconciliations Provides financial/analytical support to various departments Researches issues
Assists in the collection and dissemination of financial information
Complete all reconciliations, write-offs and reapplications provided by Credit.
Implements the daily cash process, including wire transfers, ACH and general ledger interface.
Reconcile all payments not applied through SAP.
Resolve any unapplied payments in a timely manner
Strictly follow the internal control policies and procedures.
Establishes and maintains good working relationships with internal and external contacts.
Provides accurate and timely reports and documents to internal and external customers as needed and in accordance with established Tech Data policies and procedures.
Identifies processes and procedures that could be improved to increase efficiency and/or eliminate redundancy, unnecessary or ineffective activities. Assists with special projects.

Required Educational: Associates degree minimum, Bachelors or above preferred
Approximately 1 - 5 years’ experience in Accounting. Manages smaller scale projects by tracking deadlines and collecting/organizing information
Strong, proficient Excel skills
Demonstrated knowledge of the entire Cash Application function
Ability to work with multiple ERP systems
Ability to respond in a constantly changing environment and remain calm under pressure
Established organizational and detail-oriented skills
Develops knowledge of resources necessary for guidance when applicable.
Identifies issues that require escalation and apply appropriate level of escalation.
Previous experience or advanced degree in specific job area or function; Identifies areas of risk and exposure and presents alternative solutions.
Assimilates research data from a variety of sources.
Analyzes and recommends appropriate courses of action to take.
Understands the impact of elements and processes as they relate to their functional area.
Knowledge and application of intermediate Excel
