Please reference General Information about Jobs in WI State Government*.* Position Summary: Under the general supervision of the Secretary for the Department of Children and Families, this position provides executive level, confidential administrative assistance to the Secretary. This position is privy to confidential matters by having access to, knowledge of, or discussion of, confidential and sensitive information and correspondence that have impact on the employee/employer relationship. This position will also assist the Secretary’s Office Executive Staff Assistant in activities related to personnel, office management, assignment tracking and information sharing systems. This person has frequent contact with public officials (Governor’s Office, state and federal legislators, other state agency heads, various staff in other state agencies, Division Administrators and bureau directors) and deals constantly with confidential and sensitive information.

Minimally qualified applicants will have:
Experience managing multiple executive calendars (i.e. scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings, travel arrangements, etc.)
Experience providing professional administrative support for executive level management in an organization (i.e. responding to phone calls and determining priorities of calls, keeping pertinent files/communications available, researching/handling background information, composing and editing correspondence, etc.)
Experience researching, assembling, reviewing, editing, organizing and/or approving materials for speeches, presentations, and meetings for the executive level management
Well qualified applicants will have:
Experience maintaining a daily tickler file
Experience supervising staff (i.e. prioritizing and analyzing workloads)
Excellent oral and written communication skills

Type of Employment: Full Time (40 hrs/week)
Salary: The starting salary is between $17.25 and $27.00 per hour ($35,880 and $56,160) depending on qualifications. The pay schedule/range is 81-04. A twelve month probationary period may be required.
