Major responsibilities as a Bookkeeper - Conduct and manage the general ledger - Develop a well-organized system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; define bookkeeping policies and procedures - Examine payments received and record deposits - Settle accounts by reconciling entries - Look after archived records by categorizing documents - Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information - Oversee accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions
Bookkeeper Requirements - 2+ years related work experience as a Bookkeeper - BS Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration - Prior experience working with collections/accounting software - Prior experience with bank reconciliations - Comprehensive knowledge of benefits payroll - Comprehension of benefits coordination - Experience with benefits administration - Proficiency in payroll systems for 100-500 employees - Good understanding of accruals - General familiarity with Ceridian - Practical knowledge of Ceridian Windows - Well-founded grasp of payroll taxes - Skills in numeric data entry - Wide ranging experience with Sage MAS 90 - Payroll experience preferred - Proven knowledge of payroll management - Quality experience with Ceridian DOS - Garnishments payroll experience highly desired - Hands-on experience with benefits analysis - Foundational knowledge in in-house payroll - Earlier work involving accounts payable - Previous experience working with data entry
