Job Description

Job Summary:

Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates educational activities planning for an assigned service or population.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with nurse managers and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff.

  • Develops, implements and evaluates educational plans/programs and utilizes methods, measurements and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals.

  • Serves as a resource for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development.

  • Participates in the coordination and continuity of orientation programs, including preceptor programs.

  • Working collaboratively with Managers/Clinical leaders, plans, coordinates and facilitates nursing seminars and certification reviews to meet identified needs.

  • Plans, coordinates and facilitates campus specific orientation for his/her designated campus. Teaches applicable programs to new associates.

  • Coordinates patient simulator training to include developing patient care scenarios, programming patient care scenarios into applicable systems, and facilitating learning labs for nursing.

  • Serves as back up for General, Nursing and PCT orientations in the absence of lead educator.

Qualifications

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):

  • Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

  • One or more of the following:

  • Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

  • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Department of Health obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing or healthcare related preferred

Work Experience:

  • 3+ years nursing experience required.
