Snap-on Tools Manager, Strategic Sourcing in Kenosha, Wisconsin

Overview:

TheStrategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of indirect and direct sourcing for all purchases related to the support of ongoing operations and future business of Snap-on Business Solutions. The position manages the supply chain to implement strategic initiatives through focused supplier and cost management, effective supplier negotiations, identification of cost saving opportunities and continuous risk reduction.

Responsibilities:

Lead Procurement and Sourcing team who are responsible for inventory stocking levels, ongoing replenishment purchasing, item number set up, standard cost, pricing, tool kit development, and tool sourcing and procurement.

Active supplier management

  • Develop and implement meaningful supplier scorecards

  • Ensure supplier agreements are completed

  • Manage supplier relationships

New supplier development

  • Assess appropriate suppliers for products

  • Enhance supplier network

  • Drive cost reduction

Product sourcing

  • Reduce cost of existing special tools

  • Reduce lead time for production of special tools

  • Reduce minimum order quantities

  • Reduce Import/Export costs

Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field.

  • 5+ years’ experience in the automotive service tool and equipment industry.

  • Two years’ history of sales-related activity in the automotive service industry.

  • Solid understanding of major categories of vehicle service equipment products.

  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with suppliers.

  • Proven experience achieving results in a matrix organization.

  • Ability to achieve results with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to travel as necessary to meet objectives.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Personal characteristics of particular importance are; approachability, responsiveness, enthusiasm, adaptability and flexibility.

  • PC skills relative to corporate and business unit applications and needs.
