Overview:Assists in the supervision and coordination of activities required for daily kitting operations assigned by the kitting supervisor. The selected individual will work in a large warehouse environment receiving items from delivery trucks, and placing items in the appropriate warehouse area. Manually loading or unloading trucks or other transporting devices; unpacking, shelving, or placing items in proper storage locations according to the WMS. The persons in this position will work relatively unsupervised throughout the day receiving merchandise and placing it in proper storage areas.

Duties

  1. Use radio-frequency stock locator to receive and put away stock - Daily

  2. Reports any discrepancies in orders to warehouse supervisor – Daily

  3. Key in 15-digit part numbers into computer – As needed

  4. Print packing list and pick tickets for orders - Daily

  5. Frequent lifting (up to 10 pounds) – Daily

  6. Moderate lifting (up to 40 pounds) – Daily

  7. Occasional lifting (up to 75 pounds) - Daily

  8. Meets deadlines - Daily

  9. Maintain warehouse equipment by following manufacturer’s standards of use and cleaning - Daily

  10. Maintain safe and clean working environment - Daily

  11. Work with supervisor towards meeting performance standards - Daily

  12. Quality check during the kitting process

  13. Run end of week inventory from WMS - Weekly

  14. Other duties as assigned

EQUIPMENT USED

Fork truck, reach truck, push carts, motorized pallet jacks, hand-held radio frequency units, bar code scanner, use of computer, Excel and Word.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Serve as an example to team members in the Kitting Department. Carry out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, encouraging and motivating employees, soliciting input, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

4th grade reading level and 3rd grade math level. No prior experience or training.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

4th grade reading level or higher. Ability to read and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers- up to 15 digits. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Basic math skills (3rd grade math). Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to and to communicate effectively to others. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to analyze kitting procedures and make improvement recommendations to supervisor.
