University of Kansas Student Hourly/Work Study Assistant for HBW in Lawrence, Kansas
This position will require student to work with Project Coordinator and in executing specific tasks as assigned.
Assist with catalog of HBW (Project on the History of Black Writing) holdings and expanding collections, assist with promotion and advertising for events. Job involves working in a team environment, meeting deadlines and working responsibility and independently. This is not a high turnover position, it requires a period of training and attendance at bi-weekly meetings.
- Freshman/Sophomore student in any major interested in improving writing, reading, speaking and library research skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Courses in and/or exposure to African American literature/culture
- Work Study qualified
- During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments)
