The GM is the top manager at the location and makes certain all processes and procedures are followed efficiently. Specifically, the GM is accountable for sales, expense management, people management, and inventory management. The GM exercises independent judgment, and provides direction to hourly staff in the office. The GM hires, schedules, and disciplines all office hourly staff, the SM, and Manager Trainees. Essential Functions: 1. Perform all assigned duties safely.2. Provide excellent, courteous customer service. 3. Account for daily execution of company defined program processes. (DC sales, Lowes, Direct, etc.)4. Monitor measurements against budget, and/or targets of key performance metrics.5. Review cost of operations and enhance profitability of Door Center.6. Staff, develop, supervise, and direct all exempt Door Center personnel, and hourly office staff: assist Service Manager with fostering, training, and supervising hourly warehouse staff.7. Oversee and verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of merchandise, and keeping of warehouse inventory.8. Consult with customers and representatives of associated industries, to evaluate, promote, improve, and expand regional sales.9. Establish and introduce conformity of work procedures governing Door Center operations.10. Resolve employee grievances or submit unsettled grievances to District Service Manager for action.11. Communicate company methods, policies, and procedures to staff and/or clientele.12. Coordinate assembly, work schedules (including temporary personnel as needed), and warehouse operations to ensure scheduled delivery dates are met.13. Inspect warehouse facilities and equipment: recommend changes in allocation of space and storage procedures to District Service Manager.14. Responsible for instructing and reinforcing Amarr, and DOT compliance for all DC Personnel who drive Amarr vehicles.15. Ensure that corporate programs regarding safety, security, care of equipment, and facility are enforced; thereby guaranteeing OSHA compliance.16. Investigate customer complaints related to damaged items, overcharges, and shipment delays: discuss feasible options with District Service Manager to best prevent any future occurrences.17. Effect change to achieve weekly inventory, scrap, and damage goals.18. Assist in the development of a semi- annual 2D and meet all training targets as spelled out in the 2D.19. Other reasonably related duties as assigned. Other Job Responsibilities and Physical Requirements: 1. Must perform work in non-climate controlled warehouse facility.2. Extended standing, and walking distances up to 200 feet.3. Manual dexterity, and hand to eye coordination for operation of hand/power tools.4. Frequent stooping, bending, walking, carrying, and lifting (up to 50 lbs.). Qualifications of Job:1. Verbal, written, and interpersonal skills (sales skills). 2. Good supervisory, leadership, and motivational skills.3. Organizational, time management, analytical and PC / Windows skills.4. College education or related experience.5. Valid driver’s license.6. Mechanical aptitude/power tools.
