Position Summary

Responsible for managing complex categories in relation to inventory management, quality management, PO placement, and providing local market intelligence to the planning organization.

Monitor DPR scorecards, dashboards and the associated metrics.

Train and support the merchandising functions assortment and demand changes with appropriate forecast management.

Primary areas of responsibility

  • Take strategic action to maintain local inventory levels while maximizing customer service levels

  • Manage and train the procurement process in compliance with corporate guidelines

  • Designated DPR Super User responsibilities to include monitoring DPR scorecards, dashboards and the associated metrics as required

  • Work with logistics team to maximize supply chain efficiencies

  • Collaborate/strategize with Operations to develop programs to maximize efficiencies of receiving and warehousing

  • Manage OpCo level SKU count and resolve replenishment issues

  • Execute purchasing of new items and demand changes timely for customer events, business shifts, and seasonality changes

  • Manage returns to suppliers and supplier inventory allowances

  • Follow and react to market conditions within established corporate and market guidelines

  • Manage Inventory DSO, aged inventory, obsolete inventory, and discontinued items to achieve corporate goals

  • Manage forecasting and demand planning

  • Manage and understand commodity purchasing

  • Manage to reduce spoilage and shrink inventory

  • Execute and support product recalls as required

  • Responsibility for facilitating specific initiatives as required such as beverage QB and HACCP Coordinator

  • Planner 2 Vendor direct 2300 lines RDC 3500 lines

  • Planner 2 Super Users 1800 lines in additional to super user activities

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of degree sufficient to successfully perform essential job functions required

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Minimum Experience

  • 3+ years' experience

  • Purchasing/merchandising experience required

  • Experience working within a retail, wholesale or distribution environment required

Skills

  • Strong communication skills with sales on any gaps in product service level

  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders across the enterprise

  • Ability to understand and execute the standard replenishment processes and best practices

  • Strong tactical replenishment execution skills

  • Ability to negotiate with suppliers to execute the inventory depletion process

  • Strong attention to details and follow up

  • Strong understanding of product forecasting

  • Strong Excel skills preferred

Travel: 5%
