Summary of Job Function: Conducts patient interviews to assure that medical and financial data is obtained/documented via computer system, in order to provide necessary medical treatment and obtain proper reimbursement for the Hospital. Assures Hospital compliance with government agencies and insurance carrier regulations as they pertain to Patient Access Management. Develops/follows patient financial plan and collects payment. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors, etc. Job Requirements: High School diploma. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently. Prior health care background and knowledge preferred. Office procedures, typing and word processing (minimum of 25 wpm), data entry, customer relations, office machinery, medical terminology preferred. Scheduling experience and basic knowledge of coding, billing and insurance preferred.
