Position Summary Market District Express Team Leaders are honest, engaging, respectful and authentic and display a curiosity about food. Market District Team Leaders have a proven record of leadership. Additional responsibilities include delivering profitable growth targets.

Actively demonstrate appropriate suggestive selling techniques.
Provide active sampling opportunities, when appropriate.

Teach department leads and Team Members how to evaluate products from both a visual and taste perspective.
Use and teach EATEC procedures to order product and track and monitor sales to drive the profitability of the business and maximize the product mix.
Use the base scheduling process to help department leads develop schedules that meet our customer service standards and the needs of the business.
Manage and teach the requisitioning process to ensure product availability and presentation meets company standards.
Establish processes and standards for managing supply costs.
Utilize periscope to record known loss.
Directly participate in the training of department Team Members for their total understanding and flawless execution of all aspects of departmental processes, procedures and requirements while meeting customer expectations and company policies. Develop and monitor process to ensure cross-training of Prepared Foods leads and Team Members.
Develop and maintain communication processes with other departments in order to develop marketing and cross-merchandising plans which help to meet the financial objectives of the store. Develop and implement merchandising plans using established guidelines to meet the financial objectives of the department.
Promote the continuous development of Team Members and identify candidates for Team Leader Development Program.
Ensure proper food handling and food safety techniques are used keeping the cold chain intact. Maintain a safe and clean environment to ensure health and OSHA requirements are met.
Ability to understand and adhere to the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Perform duties of staff as required.
Responsible for budget development, expense control and/or revenue generation for a department.

Education and Training Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Education and Training Desired
Bachelors Degree Retail Management, Business Administration or similar
Retail work experience or Store Leader recommendation
Experience Desired Retail leadership or supervisory experienceSuccessful performance as a Peer Trainer or other similar roleSuccessful performance as an in-store champion (e.g., safety, service, wellness) or similar roleDemonstrated product knowledge relevant to departmentSatisfactory performance and discipline record
