Be part of a world-class engineering team responsible for designing and implementing solutions for system orchestration and hypervisor interaction. Our customers run their mission-critical IT infrastructure on our platform, so quality of delivery through good design and proper testing is essential for success.

This team is responsible for high availability services, distributed change management, group communication protocols in a massive scale-out solution just to mention few of the items on our backlog. If you are self-motivated, have a firm grasp on storage management and C++/Java development, always find yourself at the center of development projects, and believe that untested code is broken code - we would like to speak with you!

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop system features and functionality to enhance SimpliVity support of Hypervisor/Virtualization technologies.

  • Analyzes design and determines coding, programming, and integration activities required based on general objectives and knowledge of overall architecture of product or solution.

  • Provide unit tests and support the development of functional and system tests that ensure the highest level of product quality possible.

  • Writes and executes complete testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion of application; identifies and debugs, and creates solutions for issues with code and integration into application architecture.

  • Support your code through product development and deployment.

  • Leads a project team of other software systems engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for assigned systems portion or subsystem.

  • Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding software systems design status, project progress, and issue resolution.

  • Represents your team for all phases of larger and more-complex development projects.

  • Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.

  • Typically 7-10 years experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Expertise in multiple software systems design tools and languages.

  • 7+ years in development of computer software in C++ and/or Java.

  • Extensive hands-on Object Oriented Design and Programming experience, including understanding and application of design patterns.

  • Experience with SQL databases.

  • Experience with Boost, STL, and Apache Thrift.

  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, or OpenStack.

  • Knowledge of storage API’s such as VASA, VAAI, VSS, or VDS.

  • Experience developing and deploying embedded IT infrastructure software, preferably in storage and/or networking areas.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Track record of meeting aggressive deadlines and delivering high quality product to market.

  • Experience with Scrum or other Agile methodologies.

  • Designing software systems running on multiple platform types.

  • Software systems testing methodology, including writing and execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language. Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at management levels.
