Eaton Corporation Continuous Improvement Coordinator in Mountain Home, Arkansas

Eaton’s Fluid Conveyance Division is seeking a Continuous Improvement Coordinator. The Continuous Improvement Coordinator will be based out of our Mountain Home, AR facility.

Position Overview:

As a member of the Mountain Home team, the Continuous Improvement Coordinator is expected to support the plant culture by participating in multiple cross-functional initiatives and maintain a consistent presence on the plant floor. Responsible for implementation and improvements to the Eaton Lean Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF) Initiatives. Drive improvements to the ELSS Tools, Value Stream Maps, 5S+, Standard Work, Total Productive Maintenance, Setup Reduction, Problem Solving Kaizen (RIE), Lean Material Flow, and Six Sigma using cross functional teams from all levels of the organization. Identify and coordinate Green Belt and Black Belt projects in the plant. Continuous improvement activities will consume approximately 75% of time.

Reporting to the OPEX Manager, the Continuous Improvement Coordinator will help guide the plant in developing and deploying an effective ELSS strategy that positively affects the plant and High Five results. Leads the necessary training and deployment programs. Trains the plant employees in various ELSS tools and subjects. Leads self-assessments, monitors assessment outcome and corrective action plans, and the impacts on business results.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Partners with plant team to develop and execute the continuous improvement strategy in facility. This includes execution of top down Key Objectives, leading of Rapid Improvement Events, and deployment of the Continuous Improvement Framework.

  • Directs activities to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, Inventory, and Cost utilizing the Eaton Lean Six Sigma methods (ELSS).

  • Leads or facilitates cross-function problem solving teams or events to address key initiatives in the plant using A3’s, VSM’s, RIE’s, Six Sigma, Standardized Work, etc.

  • Trains all employees and deploys the Lean tools (5S, VSM, Standard Work, Setup Reduction, TPM, Problem Solving, Material Flow, and Six Sigma). Conducts training needs assessment associated with ELS and facilitates site ELS tools training for all employees.

  • Develops and analyzes statistical data and product/process performance to recommend and implement improvements in targeted areas.

  • Oversee and coordinate production methods and modifications for production efficiency and cost control.

  • Conduct studies to prepare and recommend new and revised operating procedures to maintain control, improve operations, and facilitate processing. Compile and analyze significant data relative to the solution of lean/manufacturing problems and/or cost reduction studies.

  • Drive culture change and Mentors others in the plant on implementing and sustaining continuous improvement practices.

  • Conducts ELSS related assessments and helps to coordinate OpA within Mountain Home and identify performance gaps. Works through the leadership team to prioritize improvement activities and close gaps.

  • Represents the Plant in Division Councils or Work Teams as appropriate. Drives best practice sharing and external benchmarking.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required.

  • Minimum 1 year of experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment.

  • Must be able to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lean/Six Sigma certification.

  • Project management experience.
