Kforce has a client seeking a Director of Product Design- B2B / SaaS in New York, New York (NY).Summary:Firm was founded with the desire to build inspiring solutions that improve the lives of small business owners, and empower them with the tools they need to succeed. They are looking for an innovative and technically savvy Director of Product Design to help lead the strategy and execution on our best-in-class small business operating platform and applications. This position is full time and based in our NYC headquarters.Reporting to the SVP of Product, the Director of Product Design will lead a team of Product Designers to create simple, compelling, and elegant user experiences. Candidate will believe design is part science with hard metrics that can influence decisions that either make or break a product. Candidate will still roll up your sleeves and have your finger on the pulse of the latest tools and techniques. Director will also mentor, write, speak, and a lead a team of individuals who are passionate about creating an environment where they can have a real impact both within the company and in the SMB community at large.Essential Functions:

  • Oversee Product Design work across the company, maintaining a consistently high bar for research, visual and user experience design across a portfolio of firm's products

  • Drive best practices in Agile Product Design and UX Methodology as appropriate for all products in the portfolio, which could be at various life stages

  • Implement a user research program in collaboration with partners in Product Management, Marketing, Engineering and Customer Care

  • Hire, develop, mentor, and provide performance feedback to Product Designers on your team

  • 9 years' experience in Product Design, including at least 5 years of team leadership

  • Design Leadership: relentless focus on standards, consistency, and superior experience design

  • Customer Focus: track record of driving best-practices around development and documentation of personas, customer workflows, and user journeys to guide decision-making

  • Management: history of leading high-performing design organizations, hiring and developing talent and delivering results in a variety of environments

  • Technical Knowledge: the ability to collaborate with engineering teams on a highly technical product (while advocating for a small business-centric (non-technical) customer base)

  • Verbal and Written Communication: the ability to lead productive meetings, create effective and useful product design documents, and maintain alignment across a complex product portfolio

  • The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial, customer focused, metrics-driven, collaborative, generally unstoppable, and have a strong eye and instinct for good product design

  • Hands on experience designing B2B, SaaS or workflow-management products not required, but a plus
