Job Duties:

This is a global role in which the individual needs to be deeply cognizant of the technical and commercial needs and direction of broad automotive markets.

Looking inward, the candidate should be able to articulate a strategy by automotive segment in order to orchestrate orderly and deliverable, but significant growth within our automotive business worldwide. He/she should be able to influence senior IESD/Mentor management to support his/her direction and commit resources both commercially and technically. He/she should become the go-to person for those wishing to sell or promote our activities/products to the market and be able to craft and deliver against execution plans that everyone buys into, including the marketing position, messaging and sales strategy collaboratively developed with the account teams. He/she should be able to translate market needs/direction to drive innovation within the IESD division and develop the needed coaching collateral and related activity required to educate internal teams. As such he/she should deeply familiarize himself with our products, technologies, divisional strategy and constraints and also our collaboration opportunities with sister divisions and products. As a member of the IESD Core Staff Group he/she should contribute to our overall direction, understanding the entire landscape of opportunity. He/she should recognize when to push the Automotive agenda and when to back-off for the greater good. In order words, he should be a team player while also being a strong voice and driver of the automotive markets. The Automotive Director will be teamed with a Solution Architect dedicated to his/her activity.

Job Qualifications:

He/she should have had significant exposure to senior leaders within the markets and speak their language in both technical and commercial terms, being able to connect both intuitively and intelligently. He/she should have the ability to engage in a meaningful way that builds confidence and trust with them regarding his/her to understand and represent their views (both implied and explicit) to Mentor in a way that influences our direction and actions. That same trust and communication skill should enable the candidate to positively influence customers and industry thought leaders to merge Mentor, and specifically IESD into their thoughts and plans. To the greatest extent possible the candidate should be published or be prepared to publish on a broad range or IESD, Mentor or Industry topics so his name and reputation becomes widely recognized, both internally and externally. The team (including Solution Architect) should collaboratively (with domains and regional experts) agree and own reference flows (and derivatives thereof) applicable to the automotive segments they serve (including supporting collateral). These flows should include and stimulate needed partnerships and/or supporting technology or business acquisitions.
