Data and Financial Integrity Accountant – Norcross, GA

The opportunity:

The Data and Financial Integrity Accountant will be responsible for supporting the highest level of data and financial integrity on a consolidated and global scale in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of M&A activity. This person will be responsible for helping to maintain technology and process that ensure the quality of our financial data and ultimately support our close timing, accuracy and transparency of financials.

How you will impact WestRock:

Participation in implementation and utilization of additional HFM tools for best use at WestRock

Implement changes to the JDE architecture and provide suggestions for the same. This requires knowledge of our legal entity, tax entity and management reporting structure to properly maintain thousands of business units for proper reporting.

Support and adhere to the architecture of the internal accounting structure including intercompany accounts and related eliminations and associated entries which enable the company to produce various “slices” of financial information for widely different purposes including a management view which is segment/division focused, a country view, a legal entity view including all applicable transfer pricing adjustments, a tax entity view which is used for filing income tax returns, and a Guarantor/Non-Guarantor view. All of these views are specifically tailored to the primary user of the information and is accomplished through a complex set of operating and eliminating companies, business units and accounts within JD Edwards.

Act as a liaison on the financial imports and consolidation processes in HFM

Help to maintain internal financial reporting structures

Work with IT personnel in continuous improvement in the various ledger close times

Participate and sometimes lead the completion of projects prioritized based on highest impact, communication, obtain communicate verbally and written the status of projects assigned.

This role has a wide range of responsibilities which have a direct impact on the Company’s consolidated financial statements, ability for accurate and timely close and performs in a high exposure, dynamic, and time-sensitive environment

What you need to succeed:

5-7 years of progressively more complex roles in various corporate accounting environments and/or public accounting firms.

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field from accredited university, MBA and/or CPA is desired.

Accounting expertise with an excellent understanding and appreciation for the use of systems to support exceptional data and financial integrity

Understanding of general ledger structures, equity accounting, foreign currency accounting, cash flow reporting, and consolidations.

An overall understanding of consolidations and intercompany, architecture and how foreign transactions are recorded and how various restatements, remeasurements, and translations are recorded by the system.

Significant data-mining and business intelligence development experience using JD Edwards/Oracle/PeopleSoft Financial ERP software packages, Hyperion, Essbase, all Microsoft Office packages - especially Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint.

Communication skills to present status and issues as well as listening and investigative skills to help identify solutions and to support needs of divisions and management.
