Anticipating the need for a bookkeeper How you will make an impact - Putting together the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement - Overseeing work of accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers - Handling monthly, quarterly and year end close, accurately and on time - Performing reconciliations for bank and general ledgers, as well as payroll processing - Following progress of fixed assets to prepare depreciation schedules - Executing accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, such as collections - Filing documents to maintain historical records - Maintaining knowledge of current federal, state, and local legal requirements, ensuring adherence to them, filing reports, and communicating with management on needed actions

Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent required, and AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred - Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision - Quickbooks and Peachtree experience desired - Knowledgeable of accrual and cash basis of accounting - Aptitude for analyzing financial data and generating accurate reports in a timely manner - Ability to multitask effectively - Be creative, adaptive, and eager to learn new technical skill sets - Accounts receivable experience preferred - Full charge bookkeeping experience - Proficiency in accounts payable - Adeptness in general ledger - Commercial credit experience - Demonstrated knowledge of inventory - General familiarity with Microsoft Excel - Credit analysis experience - Practical knowledge of financial reporting - Previous experience with payroll preferred - 5+ years of relevant experience in bookkeeping - Possess strong organizational and follow-up skills
