Job Description Summary

The

QA Engineer II will be part of BIDM QA team onsite (Tempe) for Data warehouse

testing projects. Primary responsibilities will be understanding requirements,

define test plans along with strategy, developing test scenarios & test

cases, conducting reviews and executing test cases. The QA Engineer will

primarily be interacting with the offshore team (QA leads & QA testers) and

onsite team (Developers and Business analyst) for understanding project

requirements. QA testing will be executed out of the offshore center in Mumbai

& Chennai, India. The QA Engineer needs to setup and facilitate offshore

calls and should provide guidance for test execution and monitor progress. This

individual will be the single point of contact for customers on QA projects.

Essential Job Functions

  • Analyzes business requirements, design documents for completeness and testability.

  • Develops test plans, test scenarios, test cases, test data and test scripts for different types of testing activities.

  • Performs execution of test cases, test scripts, captures test results, test metrics and reports them.

  • Identifies and tracks system defects, Performs root cause analysis of the defects and works with the development team to resolve them.

  • Partners with test leads and architects to develop and establish Quality Assurance standards and best practices.

  • Performs and coordinates system verification and validation test activities utilizing various tools such as HP Quality Center/Application lifecycle Management.

  • Performs Quality Assurance testing activities to ensure the applications and products and/or releases are in compliance with the Quality Assurance standards of the organization.

  • Provides mentorship to more junior Quality Assurance Analysts as needed.

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Bachelors Degree with 4 years of overall experience in Data Warehouse (ETL) Testing

  • Strong background working with large data sets in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence environments; including working knowledge of associated concepts

  • Experience in working testing through Informatica, Oracle 11g, Informatica 360T MDM and quality projects

  • Experience in working large scale Enterprise Data Warehouse, Data Integration, Data Migration and upgrade projects.

  • Requires advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.

  • May have practical knowledge of project management.

Preferred Skills:

  • ETL Test Automation

  • Experience working with Database upgrades, tool upgrades and interface testing

  • Banking and financial services domain knowledge

Professional Skills:

  • Strong communication skills to be able to communicate at all levels

  • High level of personal commitment to each task, a can do attitude and adrive to deliver

  • Ability to understand banking financial requirements

  • High level of responsibility and Ownership from inception through toimplementation

  • The candidate should have a proactive approach to problem solving

  • Good analysis skills in order to aid in trouble shooting and problemsolving
