Scrum Master


In this key role, we are looking for an experienced Scrum Master that is passionate about agile and helping our Customer Journey Applications teams plan and execute sprint work effectively. The ideal candidate embraces scrum practices and provides effective collaboration, facilitation, leadership and coaching skills to support the successful, on-time, high quality delivery of various product development team activities. He or she has a solid understanding of the scrum framework and how various agile practices can evolve within a software development team to achieve success. In addition, the ideal candidate has experience delivering commercial software applications via on-premise and cloud deployment models, experience in a variety of software development methodologies, and familiarity with agile-at-scale concepts.


  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional scrum teams and development managers to support the full software delivery lifecycle

  • Organize and facilitate daily stand-up meetings, sprint reviews, sprint and release retrospectives, sprint and release planning, stakeholder demos, and other scrum related meetings

  • Guide and coach the scrum team on how to use agile/scrum best practices and values

  • Continually evaluate teams’ scrum process capabilities and suggest/implement process improvements in a constructive and collaborative manner

  • Assist Product Owners with user story creation and backlog grooming

  • Assist teams with splitting and sizing stories, reviewing and understanding acceptance criteria, and approaching work in priority order

  • Keep JIRA Agile boards and related team/sprint key metrics and dashboards up to date; provide regular scrum team status to the development management team as needed

  • Track and report scrum team velocity and manage sprint capacity

  • Track overall program level progress by creating real-time dashboards and or reports

  • Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution to ensure consistent progress

  • Help the product owner maintain the product backlog in a way that ensures the project is well defined and the team can continually advance forward on the project at any given time

  • Help the scrum team ensure they meet the definition of ‘done’ for each product feature, with input from key stakeholders

  • Help the scrum team avoid or remove impediments to their progress, whether internal or external to the team

  • Review and optimize our use of JIRA to support our agile process

  • Track release readiness and ensure all release level activities are complete in a timely manner.



  • Must be energetic and enthusiastic, with strong leadership and organizational skills and a positive attitude.

  • Excellent analytical skills, good attention to detail, and the ability to follow issues through to resolution.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Proficient with JIRA, JIRA Agile, Confluence, and other agile team productivity tools.

  • Basic to Intermediate SQL skills.

  • Familiarity with SaaS/Cloud and Web applications and with the ability to understand and communicate technical issues.

  • Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games


  • 5 years overall experience in working in a software development environment, with 3 years of experience as a scrum manager or project manager for a software development team

  • First level ScrumMaster® Certification is required. Second Level certification is a plus.

  • BS in Computer Science or related engineering degree from a four-year accredited college/university

  • Must be a self-starter and able to work well with others in a fast-paced agile environment with an emphasis on collaborating and assisting the team to meet business objectives
