CACI International Software Engineer 1 (Web Dev) in Rome, New York

Job Description

Position Summary:

CACI Technologies in Rome, NY is seeking full stack web developers who are interested in building interactive web applications. You will be working with our UI/UX designers to build web-based data visualization software and productivity tools supporting the United States military.

Successful candidates will have a knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Familiarity with Node.js is a plus, as is familiarity with SVG, Canvas, WebGL and other web based graphics programming. Our customer is a research and development organization, so we adopt new technologies swiftly and prefer candidates who have a strong interest in learning new technologies often.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop new user-facing features.

  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use.

  • Apply the principles of progressive enhancement to web application development.

  • Optimize application code for speed and scalability.

  • Implement user input validation.

  • Apply good programming practices for security and data protection.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be a US Citizen. A security clearance must be obtained and maintained.

  • Proficiency with web platform technologies (HTML/CSS/JavaScript) and the latest web standards.

  • Comfortable working with a wide variety of libraries and frameworks or in some cases none at all.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with server-side platforms like Node.js.

  • Experience with server-side frameworks like Express.js.

  • Experience with building single page apps using progressive enhancement.

  • Experience with SVG, Canvas, WebGL and other web based graphics programming environments.

  • Experience with automated UI testing and automated unit testing tools like Mocha and Selenium.

  • Experience with source code management systems, particularly Git.

Education & Experience:

Typically requires bachelor's degree or equivalent and zero to two years of related work experience.

Physical Demands:

Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
