Summary: This position is responsible to coordinate workflow for a production area within a manufacturing department to achieve daily, weekly and monthly goals while ensuring safety, quality and productivity. Principal Responsibilities: SAFETY Identify, report, train and build awareness of health and safety issues of assigned work area and personnel. Ensures work area is free of hazards and that staff are trained and follow safe working practices. Responsible for escalating and reporting health and safety issues and ensuring they are addressed in a timely manner. Ensure that employees on the line are trained on safety procedures and policies. Maintain and monitor lean measurements for assigned area(s). QUALITY Accountable for ensuring that production output meets established quality standards on a daily-weekly basis. Directly oversees a production line or area ensuring quality procedures and standards are adhered to. Ensures employees are properly trained to Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and that production processes are followed for quality purposes. PRODUCTIVITY - OUTPUT Accountable for the operational management of assigned line(s). Accountable for ensuring that production schedules are met on a daily - weekly basis. Directly oversees a production line or area ensuring production targets are met. Perform hands-on production assembly or operator responsibilities at least 50% of the time. Lead daily start up meetings, shift transition meetings. Ensure on going compliance with existing lean programs. Completes select materials management computer transactions in Oracle-SAP. Ensures that production reporting and production documentation for lot traceability and finished product is completed accurately and on time. OVERSEE Responsible for conducting training and assigning staff duties on production line or area. Monitors day to day performance and attendance, providing information to the supervisor. Provides feedback to employees in assigned area related to safety, quality standards, and production standards.
