Sony Electronics has an exciting opportunity for a Media Manager in our San Diego headquarters, responsible for leading the success of paid media programs to include paid search, natural search, display, social, mobile, video, and programmatic campaigns for Sony's Digital Imaging division in the United States and Canada.
The Media Manager, Digital Imaging, will align with business unit strategy to explore, recommend, and execute media strategy and buying across digital, broadcast and traditional channels. This includes building the strategy, placing the media (either directly or through agency), optimizing campaigns and reporting results to management with the goal of maximizing return on ad spend and/or awareness key performance indicators. The incumbent will be vigilant in campaign results, cross-checking numbers and ensuring directional alignment in the context of sales performance results.
This role will be responsible for providing thought leadership in digital media and use analytical skills to optimize Sony Digital Imaging’s media investments. The Media Manager will be forward-thinking, anticipating challenges and solving for them before they happen. The incumbent will build strong relationships with Digital Imaging business unit and establishing clear and proactive lines of communication with partners and other Sony team members and ready to incorporate research, sales, and other data into media planning.
The Media Manager, DI will critically evaluate media partners and seek out opportunities to achieve business goals and stay ahead of competitors. The incumbent will have current knowledge of and remain aware of industry advertising technology developments.
The Media Manager, Digital Imaging, will work close coordination with Influencer Marketing and retail partners to maximize impact of activities. This role will also collaborate with channel marketing to support retailer promotions, understand retailer marketing development fund investments and advise of opportunities, assist in identifying performance issues, or duplicative spend. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, concentration in business, marketing, or advertising preferred · 3-5 years of leading paid media initiatives and strategies with a proven track record of results. · Multichannel media experience (paid search/social/display/programmatic) and creative types (display, native, video, etc.) · Sound business acumen, financial analysis skills, strategic skills and common sense · Demonstrated problem-solving and project management skills. · Inquisitive, thoughtful, collaborative, and service-oriented mindset. · Expertise in advertising technology industry, developments, issues and tools. · Agency and team management experience. · Success in client (internal or external) development and service. · Proven ability to manage projects to successful completion within tight deadlines. · Desire to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. · High competency level in Excel and PowerPoint. · Background working with photography professionals, agencies, or organizations.
