The Responsibilities

Role Summary

  • The focus of the Collateral Management Team is to reduce credit risk through the use of collateral. The team currently supports collateral arrangements for FX & derivative products for North American-based clients and is responsible for the margin call process. Daily tasks include:

  • Issuance of margin calls to ensure the firm’s credit risk is mitigated, as well as agreeing and exchanging interest on pledged and held collateral.

  • Liaison with internal groups (Credit, Sales, Trading, Middle office, Legal, Front Office, Settlements) to resolve any issues.

  • Assisting with the new client set up process. Input and maintain Collateral Agreements (new agreements, amendments, etc.) in Algo Collateral without compromising data integrity

  • Optimising collateral using cheapest to deliver methodology

  • Liaising with Portfolio Reconciliation teams to manage any disputes.

  • Resolving Nostro breaks.

  • Producing MIS reporting to Operations and Credit summarizing the day’s activities including volumes, fails, and outstanding calls.

  • Supporting and enhance external customer relationships..

  • Resolving all issues / conflicts in a timely and customer oriented fashion.

  • Performing a number of control functions, ensuring the integrity of our processes.

Experience – What previous experience is required for the role?


  • Previous experience working in a team environment.

  • Work experience or internship in financial services


  • Understanding of the regulatory environment, Dodd Frank, EMIR and UMR

  • Previous experience in client facing roles

  • Previous experience in Financial Services

  • Knowledge of cash and non-cash settlement processes

  • Experience on boarding or testing new systems

  • Familiarity with OTC Derivative products, FX and Prime brokerage

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize

  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize and meet deadlines

  • Proficient in Excel and Powerpoint


  • Familiarity with industry platforms such as Algo, Anvil, Calypso, AcadiaSoft, Wall Street
