Job Description:

As a paid staff member, you will support our loyal Red Cross disaster volunteers who serve selflessly to provide a bridge of assistance until individuals and families can resume a normal life.

Our disaster volunteers are the heart and soul of our mission to respond to emergencies and provide relief to victims of disasters. They serve in a number of capacities, including Disaster Action Team Member, Disaster Assessment, Caseworker, Mass Care Feeding, Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV) Driver, Shelter Manager/Staff, Disaster Health Services and Disaster Mental Health.

We are currently seeking a Volunteer Services Specialist (Tulsa, OK) to work in our Tulsa, OK office. This position will work 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday, and some weekends and evenings will be required during times of business need. Travel will also be involved up to 30% of the time.

The Volunteer Services Specialist assists with supporting and coordinating the outreach and recruitment of volunteers within specific geographies. Assist regional/chapter leaders in scheduling volunteer meetings, orientation and recognition events. Aids in advancing assigned program and services to meet Chapter's goals and objectives. Represents the Red Cross within the assigned jurisdiction for the purpose of volunteer engagement.

SomeResponsibilities:

  • Outreach & Recruitment: Support outreach and recruitment of volunteers per identified needs of Volunteer Assessment

  • Scheduling & Coordination: Scheduling and coordination of in-person orientation/placement of volunteers by volunteer team, volunteer meetings, and volunteer recognition events as planned and executed by volunteers

  • Program Services: Assist in programs and services to meet goals and objectives set by the Chapter

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree or combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in social service programs. Demonstrated experience of managing multiple priorities

Other: Intermediate proficiency with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
