Project Manager TemporaryJob InformationLocation: Wayne Campus: 1460City and State: Wayne, NJHours: 40 hours per weekRequisition ID: 5971Position Type: Full timeSalary Grade: E22DescriptionThe Project Manager will manage projects as assigned by Portfolio Managers.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Meet with business sponsors to collect project requirements.Contact vendors to coordinate presentation of new products. Coordinate with Vendor Management and Control Groups to obtain project and vendor approvals consistent with project management life cycle policy.Prepare documentation required for governance approvals.Define the scope of the project in collaboration with stakeholders.Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project. Determine the resources required to complete the project.Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities. Review/revise the schedule with the project team.Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion.Execute the project according to the project plan; develop forms and records to document project activities.Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project.Track issues and risks; prepare change requests as needed for schedule/scope/cost-effort.Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the project, including weekly status reports in Portfolio Management Tool.Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards.Track budgeted project expenditures.Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality.Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase.Prepare turnover documentation for Application Services.Conduct closeout meetings and document lessons learned.Required Skills:Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conforms to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Ability to define problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions.Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel. Project and/or CA PPM.Handle multiple projects simultaneously.Required Experience:Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of two years related project management experience.Banking experience preferred.Six Sigma, Project Management Professional (PMP), Project Management certificate or Certified Associate in Project Management preferred.Valley National Bank is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
