Kforce Data Analyst in Windsor Mill, Maryland

Kforce has a client in Windsor Mill, Maryland (MD) seeking a Data Analyst. They will be supporting the development and maintenance of Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Enterprise Application. This individual's responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborate with software developers, project managers and business analysts in conceptualizing and developing new database application

  • Collecting and collating appropriate data for usage in databases and web application

  • Participating in ongoing decisions concerning data collections, study design, methodology, and data analysis

  • Discussing business reporting needs or information with Enterprise and Technical Domain Architects and other staff members

  • Evaluating data from source through reporting and dissemination

  • Working with business analysts to identify business needs and appropriate solutions

  • Designing and building reports, visualizations, and ad hoc exports accurately to business requirements within the allotted time

  • Accurate coding of variables from original information or data and completing web application forms as required

  • Analyzing data with standard statistical methods, interpreting the results, and providing written summary of data analyses

  • Sharing the knowledge of analysis techniques and data coding which address projected survey questions

  • Assist in the development, refinement, and implementation of database changes process that is efficient and focuses on shortening the time to implement from DEV to PROD supporting concurrent releases

  • Support QA team for data projects and Coordinate with UAT testing to ensure defect free project lifecycle process

  • Assuring the integrity of project data, including data extraction, storage, manipulation, processing and analysis

  • Develop SQL/UNIX scripts to automate various database management processes

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field

  • At least 5 years of demonstrated progressive and relevant experience, including with Oracle and MySQL databases

  • Experience in software development, including requirements analysis, software development, integration, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution

  • Hand-on experience writing stored procedures in PL/SQL

  • Hand-on experience with database tuning, migration, and administration

  • Hand-on experience with data modeling in relational database management systems

  • Hand-on experience with analysis and performance optimization of data structures, SQL, and stored procedures

  • Experience working on Scrum or other Agile based methodologies

  • Solid knowledge of database architecture including design and composition of database tables, columns, data types, database layouts and hardware considerations

Skills Preferred:

  • Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services related working experience

  • BI experience

  • Experience with Medicare and Medicaid data
