JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Performs a wide variety of data analyses under general supervision of manager.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the EAI’s generation resource planning activities in MISO.

  • Assist in developing the EAI’s long-term resource plan considering the balance between cost, risk and reliability.

  • Provide inputs to Entergy System Planning & Operations (SPO) to develop the OPCO capacity offer strategy. Inputs include Installed Capacity (i.e., generating unit availability schedule), and timeline for generating unit retirements and outage schedules.

  • Provide inputs to SPO and develop general parameters for the capacity resource auctions based upon costs, capacity credits, capacity not in the rate base (if applicable), long-term load forecast, and Fossil generating unit data. Those offers are developed and bid into the MISO market by SPO personnel.

  • Support EAI's Request for Proposal (RFP) process.

  • Participate in MISO committees related to resource planning.

  • Support the preparation of regulatory filings on matters related to generation resource planning activities.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of the resource plan to meet the load and energy requirements for a large customer base.

  • Researches assigned portions of a project, documents sources and works with relevant stakeholders inside and outside of department to ensure relevancy.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education required of the position

Bachelor's Degree in a technical or business related field required or equivalent work experience.

Desired: Master's Degree.

Minimum experience required of the position

Analyst II: 2-4 years of professional experience

Analyst III: 4-6 years of professional experience

Analyst Sr.: At least 6 years of professional experience

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

Analytical skill set with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
