Job Title:Technical Support (Technical Writer)*

Job Location:Aberdeen, MD

Security Clearance: An active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance

Certification:N/A

Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US citizenship is required.

Job Responsibilities:

The Technical Support (Technical Writer):

  • Shall support the initial configuration and functional verification of terminal operations (both on the SATCOM and Baseband Networks).

  • Shall support the creation and validation of both modem boot files and network router and switch configurations necessary to interface to the existing Government network through close coordination and interface with existing network operations personnel.,

  • Shall support network monitoring and outage restorations.

  • Shall support FSR troubleshooting and terminal repair actions.

  • Shall support new requirements definition and implementation of interconnection to the existing government network.

  • Shall serve as the Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) subject matter expert, with strong SATCOM operations knowledge and basic baseband knowledge.

  • Shall handle other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Shall have troubleshooting skills in various SATCOM terminals and complex inter-networking environments.

  • Shall have an understanding of TCP/IP and its suite of protocols.

  • Shall know Cisco router configuration and operation (or equivalent).

  • Shall know IP addressing and variable length sub-net masking techniques.

  • Shall know baseband and RF technologies.

  • Four (4) years total experience in a related area.

Education:

An associate’s degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR; a major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR; 11 years of recent specialized experience.
