Current Need

McKesson’s well regarded Corporate Legal Department is seeking a Staff Counsel II – Privacy to handle some key areas within the McKesson Global Privacy Office.

The key job responsibilities for this position are as follows:

  • Negotiate business associate agreements (BAAs) on behalf of Corporate (35%)

  • Negotiate McKesson Europe data protection agreements (DPAs) (10%)

  • Help draft and approve privacy notices – Canada & EU (10%)

  • Assist with data lifecycle exercises (10%)

  • Assist with GDPR-related activities (10%)

  • Work with compliance teams to ensure deviations from McKesson BAA standards are incorporated into their respective programs (5%)

  • Manage the BAA quality assurance program (5%)

  • Assist with legal analysis of new privacy laws and regulations (5%)

  • Create and/or maintain all the privacy tools, checklist and templates (5%)

  • Negotiate Privacy Shield Addendums (5%)

Minimum requirements:

  • 4 years of experience in privacy or a combination of contract negotiation and privacy experience exceeding four years

Education:

  • Bachelor degree required. Prefer bachelor degree in business, information security, computer science, project management or related areas.

  • Juris Doctor degree preferred. Member of a jurisdiction is preferred.

Additional requirements:

  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills

  • Healthcare, pharmaceutical, or life sciences experience preferred

  • Uphold the highest standards of ethics and honesty

  • Confront conflicts directly and respectfully

  • Value and respect the other members of McKesson and customers

  • Exceptional comfort with and mastery of modern office technology, including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) SharePoint, OneDrive, web-based applications such as WebEx, remote access systems, contract- and document-management systems such as NetDocs or SalesForce are helpful.
