The Market Data Management (MDM) team provides business leadership of the market data platform. This platform manages market data feeds from exchanges and vendors serving up billions of quotes accessed by Schwab systems and clients. The MDM team plays a strategic role in interfacing with exchanges and vendors to optimize business value and adhere to data usage reporting standards. The team also partners with product owners around the firm to meet their market data needs by prioritizing enhancements, supporting strategic initiatives, performing business analysis, and documenting requirements for development. MDM also supports data governance policies and standards to manage changes to market data usage around the firm and to govern exchange reporting standards.
What you’ll do:
The Senior Team Manager, Product Management will play a critical role between Business and Technology. The SM will engage with Business stakeholders in order to define business requirements for requested enhancements, and ensure the expected outcomes are delivered. The SM will manage a team of direct reports that serve as Product Owners in Agile teams and collaborate with Technology partners to deliver clearly defined requirements. This position includes active engagement with various teams around the firm including: Product Management, Market Data Technology, QA, and Vendor Management.
Lead, motivate, and develop a team of Product Owners responsible for Market Data agile teams
Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to create and execute a vision that builds near-term and long-term capabilities aligned with business strategy
Product Owner role in Agile team: build user stories, attend ceremonies
Vet and filter user requests before proceeding to business requirements writing
Vendor feed changes impact analysis, and communication with Business & Technology
Define and document API specifications for product owners, clients, and development partners
Analyze production issues in coordination with Business and Technology
Coordinate with vendor contract manager regarding issues affecting market data products, technology, roadmap, etc.
Translate regulatory requirements into actionable deliverables for product and technology teams in coordination with Legal and Compliance
Participate in Market Data Governance program including data modeling, tiering, and governance
Help drive and define business test cases in QA process
What you have:
5 or more years of Product Management experience (or similar)
Ownership Mindset: act as a platform owner with regards to people, processes, and systems
Ability to recruit, lead, motivate, and develop a team
Market Data/Securities Data experience preferred
Knowledge of major exchanges, market data providers, feed handlers
Strong problem solving skills including ability to research and resolve business issues arising in various operating environments
Ability to fluidly navigate from strategic to tactical assignments, highly developed multi-tasking skills, ability to produce high quality results while meeting tight deadlines with limited supervision
Strategic mindset to help drive product management decisions, governance, and long term vision
Excellent communications skills, written and oral
BA/BS degree required
