MRI Technologist, Flaget


Position Summary:

Assists physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of disease and disorders by providing MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging).


Graduate of an accredited program in radiologic technology. Must hold Radiation Operator Certificate from the Kentucky Radiation Operators Program. Registered in good standing with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or Registry eligible. MRI registry with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is preferred. One year of patient care experience post-graduation from Radiology program preferred.

Adequate conversational English is required in order that the individual be able to take direction from management, understand how to complete job tasks, communicate adequately with patients and co-workers as necessary, understand and follow safety guidelines, and understand the Associate Handbook and all hospital policies.

Working Relationships:

The MRI Technologist is responsible to the Supervisor of Specialty Areas and does not supervise any employees. Is in daily contact with physicians, nurses, patients, families, and other professional employees. Has contact with others outside the hospital

Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:

Must be able to push/pull objects more than 50 pounds; performs moderately difficult manipulative skills, performs tasks requiring eye-hand coordination and arm-hand steadiness. Requires the ability to stand extensively, walk, sit remain in uncomfortable positions for long periods, visually discriminate far away and close objects, hear and distinguish normal sounds. May be exposed to blood, body tissue or fluids, hazardous waste materials such as chemicals, radiation, bodily injury and electrical hazards. Must have excellent communication, organizational, and problem solving skills.
