Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System Communication Specialist in Baton Rouge, Louisiana

The Communication Specialist is responsible for supporting the health system communications leader and the marketing/communications team in the development of an organization-wide communication strategy. Activities will support ideal culture for an integrated high-performing, mission-based health system organization. Individuals may also contribute to external communication activities including social media deployment, public relations and reputation management for the health system and its ministries.

Job Summary

  • Responsible for communication of daily content on intranet, master organizational calendar and electronic communication boards

  • Serves as co-editor of both electronic and printed newsletters or briefs. Includes writing, formatting and project management to distribute content to multiple internal audiences

  • Identifies hospital experts and establishes relationships with internal audiences in order to facilitate the development effective internal communication

  • Acts as a liaison with marketing specialist to ensure events are promoted through internal communication channels in a timely manner

  • Responsible for photographing and documenting events and activities to be promoted in internal communication vehicles

  • Participates as a member of the health system communications team during organizational crisis communication response in the event of disasters, emergencies, or major organizational issues or initiatives

  • Responsible for public online communication vehicles and strategies

  • Maintains the organization's (and other related entities) internet and social media presence

  • Develops written and video content to be deployed in online mediums and updates websites and social media channels in a timely manner

  • Helps coordinate search / listing optimization of organization's online presence and reputation management on major review sites

  • Participates in online surveillance to help protect the health system and market ministry reputation and brand

  • Performs other duties to support the Marketing and Communications Department or health system events

  • Will be assigned special marketing projects as requested by the VP, AVP or Director

Job Requirements & Education

1 years experience in communication or marketing field

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communication, Journalism or related field
