The Manager of Accounts Payable is responsible for planning, managing, controlling and evaluating all accounts payable activities for a centralized Health System. Ensures efficiency, quality and effectiveness of staff and processes within the department. The position relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Job Summary

  • Develops, monitors and evaluates policies and procedures which will enhance the overall effectiveness of the FMOLHS accounts payable process.

  • Ensures that policies and practices are in compliance with all regulatory agencies

  • Stays abreast of best practices to ensure compliance

  • Develops, compiles and monitors department quality and performance indicators and responds to variations from targets as appropriate

  • Oversees all open invoices, credits, discrepancies, and unreleased invoice reports, to ensure proper process of payments to vendors in a timely manner

  • Responsible for the scheduling, assignment and management of Accounts Payable staff to assure that payments are processed in a timely manner, coordinates with hospital personnel to ensure payments and credits are processed according to contracts and purchase orders

  • Ensures all proper controls and processes are followed in accounts payable functions and personnel

  • Analyzes reports and cost centers to ensure even distribution of workloads within Accounts Payable

  • Responsible for ensuring optimization of system and communicating effectively with staff on any software or hardware issues within the Accounts Payable department

  • Ensures files (electronic and hard copy) are accurately maintained and readily accessible. Fulfills requests for documentation

  • Assist with ad hoc reporting and analysis requests

  • Responsible for 1099 reporting maintenance

Minimum Job Experience 5 years of related experience

Required Education Bachelor's Degree or 4 years of related experience allowed for substitution of degree
