Responsibilities

  1. Work closely with Vice President and other senior hospital leadership on strategic initiatives to increase BCH’s commercialization activities.

  2. Build strategic relationship with other departments involved in innovation to coordinate and align activities to support Children’s broader goals.

  3. Build strategic relationships with key corporate partners to drive commercialization and support of hospital research.

  4. Build relationships with key PIs and research leadership to help them realize their goals for their innovations.

  5. Elevate practice in department to be proactive and business oriented to drive innovation.

  6. Manages Market Sector Teams, and Contract Team, including mentoring and support as needed to help them get to “yes” on complex deals.

  7. Establish practices and policies to support TIDO’s mission.

  8. Work closely with Director of Administration and Operations to ensure office operations support TIDO mission and Market Sector Teams, and Contract Team.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Advanced degree ( PhD , MBA or JD) required.

  • 10 years of experience closing complex academic-business agreements and maintaining the subsequent relationships.

  • Leadership skills dealing with complex stakeholders with differing priorities, balancing needs of hospital and stakeholders goals to get to mutually beneficial solutions.

  • Experience establishing a strong network of business relationships to move initiatives forward.

  • Experience engaging and influencing key stakeholder groups to facilitate their alignment and support for important initiatives.

  • Experience balancing candor with diplomacy to maintain an environment that motivates and inspires employees.

  • Experience managing complexity by balancing tradeoffs, competing interests and contradictions to drive for the bigger, broader picture, and to reach resolutions that move issues forward.
