Job Summary

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

o Responsible for the correct ingredient labeling of on premise produced food items according to the Ohio Uniform Food Safety Code

o Develops and executes programming and policy consistent with current health issues in collaboration with culinary/marketing teams as well as on campus groups

o Reviews and nutrition approves recipes within the menu management system (CBORD)

o Provides pertinent, accurate nutrition information for public use either in print or electronically

o Assist students who require special diets and directs unit management on proper execution

o Works with Accessibility Services on student requests for meal plan release

o Provides one on one nutrition counseling to students

o Serves as subject matter expert for health/nutrition issues and assists with ongoing staff training for food allergies and food safety

o Awareness of and engagement in Chartwells wellness/nutrition initiatives or training

Teaching Kitchen

o Promotion of TK to groups, represents TK at on/off campus functions

o Staffing & organization of events which includes set up/clean up

o Coordinates with catering arrangements for catering booked classes

o Create and execute nutrition curriculum for selected programing in Teaching Kitchen

o Maintain safety and sanitation of space

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience: B.S. Degree in Dietetics, Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), licensed to practice in the state of Ohio with two (2) to three (3) years of experience in food service. Must be ServSafe(R) certified or be able to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; to write routine reports and correspondence; to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
