The Walt Disney Company UX Engineering Internship Burbank Summer 2019 in Burbank, California

As an intern with Walt Disney Company Direct-to-Consumer and International: Design (DTCI), you will collaborate with the Design and Technology team to develop prototypes for our digital products. In this cross-platform position you will contribute to our industry-leading apps for mobile, OTT, web, emerging platforms and R&D projects. Our ideal candidate is highly creative, energetic and deeply knowledgeable about the latest development languages, technologies and design trends.

Responsibilities :

The Intern is well versed in web and application development with a focus on UX and visual interactions. This person is responsible for rapid visual and interaction prototyping on multiple platforms.

Basic Qualifications :

  • Qualified candidates must have at least 2-years’ experience designing and developing experiences for the web and mobile

  • Experience working with any of the following languages: Swift, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Kotlin, Java, Android SDK, Unity3d

  • Intermediate or higher knowledge of Adobe Photoshop

  • Strong understanding of web development best practices

  • Self-motivated, problem solver with ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with mobile first and responsive design and adaptive user interfaces

  • Familiarity with the Disney digital brands and content

  • Intermediate or higher knowledge of Adobe After Effects

  • Intermediate or higher knowledge of Sketch

Required Education :

  • Undergraduate students in their Junior or Senior year, studying Software Engineering, Computer Science, or other related fields

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

Additional Information :

  • All candidates must be available to work 40 hours/week

  • All candidates must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session

  • All candidates must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship

  • All candidates must be eligible to work in the US.

  • All candidates must be at least 18 years old

  • All candidates must currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class – OR – be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last six (6) months - OR - be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program in order to qualify for this internship
