Merakey is currently seeking a Medical Office Assistant to join our IDD Team in our Chambersburg, PA location.

  • Demonstrate the ability to assist with problem solving/decision making.

Position Specific Responsibilities:

  • Audits the Medication Administration Records of all residential individuals monthly; signs off on the MAR, correlates any medication error reports with existing errors and creates reports for new found errors.

  • Researches and creates other reports as requested.

  • Immediately reports any serious omission of health care needs by staff.

  • Assists Medical Coordinator with conducting various medical trainings including training to current and new staff according to 6400 regulations and specific individual needs.

  • Accompanies individuals to medical and psychiatric appointments as needed.

  • Documents (and translates to staff/family as needed) the details of individual's health and nursing care requirements.

  • Participates in meetings as requested.

  • Advocates for the proper care of individuals served.

  • Implements all established policies and procedures of Merakey to ensure compliance with licensing and professional standards.

  • Maintains confidentiality regarding individual and departmental information as per agency policy, DPW regulations and the Mental Health and Mental Retardation Act of 1966.

  • Demonstrates initiative, personal responsibility and teamwork in contributing to the well-being of individuals with the agency guidelines, state licensure and program descriptions.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Valid CNA license

  • At least 1 year of experience.

  • Must be detail oriented and proficient with MS Office applications.

  • Experience working in a direct care capacity preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
