We are seeking a dynamic Health Services Researcher to join our Social Work & Community Health Department at Rush University Medical Center!

This is a Full Time position

80 hours every two weeks, benefit-eligible

Position Highlights

Rush University Medical Center is seeking a Health Services Researcher to conduct research and program evaluation to improve the delivery, quality, equity, and financing of health care. Our work supports effective, data-driven decision making for programs in areas including care delivery systems, data analytics, behavioral health, quality measurement, and aging. Position Responsibilities

The Researcher will lead evaluation efforts and support data analysis for the Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP), the Center for Health and Social Care Integration (CHaSCI), and additional population health and aging projects as assigned. The Researcher will work with program leadership to develop strategy and oversee all evaluation, data management, and analysis for the programs. In particular, the Researcher will manage all evaluation components for projects under the five-year GWEP grant.

  • Lead evaluation efforts, including strategy, data collection from electronic health record and other sources, analysis, and reporting for GWEP and CHaSCI projects, as well as independently led projects

  • Conduct analysis of process and outcome measures from GWEP and CHaSCI partners

  • Support quality improvement efforts under GWEP and CHaSCI projects, including Plan-Do-Study-Act cycles

  • Participate in and lead grant writing for external funding of new projects

  • Produce reports and visualizations of data collected

  • Present data and formal reports to internal and external stakeholders, including funders

  • Communicate regularly with program leadership about all aspects of GWEP, CHaSCI, and independent projects

Position Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in policy, analytics, public health, economics, social work, or related field, PhD preferred

  • 4 years of experience in analytics, public health, economics, social work, or related field

  • Experience in the healthcare setting and with health program evaluation preferred

  • Experience with Epic electronic health record desired

  • Experience with financial /claims data desired

  • Strong analytic, issue resolution, and facilitation skills required

  • Ability to present complex information in an understandable and compelling manner required

  • Prioritize and multi-task to manage expectations of multiple stakeholders

  • Deliver high quality, timely work product with significant autonomy

  • Effectively adapt to rapid changes in project or data requirements, priorities, and changing directions

  • Strong written and verbal communication

  • Effective interpersonal and teamwork skills

  • Expertise with data and analytics tools
