Associate editor wanted
South Carolina Livingmagazine, the Palmetto State’s largest print publication, seeks a can-do, multitalented journalist to be our new associate editor.
Must have strong copy-editing and proofreading skills, but our ideal candidate can do much more—write, line edit, participate in photo shoots, collaborate with designers and help execute creative digital and social media content. If you know your way around a camera, that’s a plus, too.
Reporting to the Editor, you’ll work hard as part of a small team of talented staffers, freelance contributors and off-site vendors. The job can be demanding, but you’ll be rewarded with the opportunity to produce awesome content, not to mention a competitive salary and full benefits package.
Experience in magazine or newspaper journalism is required. Experience at a statewide cooperative magazine is ideal.
The position is full-time, and you’ll be based in our offices in Cayce, South Carolina, just across the river from downtown Columbia and the University of South Carolina. It’s Monday–Friday work most of the time, but as with any publication, chasing good stories may require extensive travel within the state, as well as some nights and weekends.
South Carolina Livingis published 11 times a year by The Electric Cooperatives of South Carolina, Inc., for the members of the state’s consumer-owned electric cooperatives. Our content runs the gamut from food, travel and gardening to home improvement advice and reader-service reporting on social issues facing the state. Check us out atwww.SCLiving.coopand sign up for our email newsletter. See back issues athttp://scliving.coop/archives. For more on the association you’ll be working for, visitwww.ecsc.org.
How to apply:
