Summary of Duties:
Reporting to the Executive Director of Corporate Relations, the Associate Director of Development will develop and implement long and short term plans to secure gifts from corporate partners and middle market business interests in support of Corporate Relations missions, objectives and priorities as set by the Executive Director. — The focus of the position is to build a portfolio of companies and a pipeline of major gift prospects. The successful individual is strategic, professional, entrepreneurial, interpersonally savvy, and is motivated to be out in the business community cultivating and managing relationships that drive philanthropic growth for The Ohio State University. The position offers a great opportunity to build programs and grow their fundraising skills/abilities by working with OSU development colleagues and through regular engagement opportunities with OSU areas of focus that align with the corporate sector. — The Associate Director is expected to maintain confidentiality and use good judgment when working with sensitive information; be proficient with MS Office programs and regularly utilize the customer relationship management system to include the timely input of prospect/company information; and exhibit the behaviors associated with the Office of Advancement's core competencies: Leadership, Continuous Improvement, Teamwork and Collaboration, and Communication/Interpersonal Effectiveness. This position will work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and overnight travel.
Bachelor’s degree plus at least one year of fundraising experience or experience engaging in persuasive activities or sales with external constituents.
Previous corporate relations or strategic partnership experience; Fundraising or alumni relations experience in higher education; basic understanding of the concepts and principles of fundraising.
Target Salary: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 Annually
