POSITION SUMMARY: The Copy Supervisor functions as the lead copywriting resource for marketers within AmerisourceBergen’s Health Systems business unit. As a writing leader, the Copy Supervisor will provide strategic and tactical guidance for other writers within their assigned group to ensure the overall quality of Health Systems content and the efficiency of the writing group’s operation. This position must also function as a day-to-day writer and content strategist, producing a variety of marketing materials, with particular emphasis on developing impactful sales and new business presentations with teams of marketers. This position is a key writing resource within the AmerisourceBergen Creative Center of Excellence (COE). While reporting to the COE’s Creative Director, the Copy Supervisor will be embedded in the Health Systems business and will partner directly with Health Systems marketers and their leaders. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Actively participates in and shapes strategic business discussions aimed at generating a wide array of marketing content, including presentations of all types (new business presentations and customer presentations, for example), sales collateral, content marketing initiatives, campaigns, and other promotional efforts. 2. Translates insights, data, and disparate pieces of business information into narratives that promote the value of the products and services of the Health Systems segment. 3. Thoroughly researches key business topics, working with subject matter experts to bring those topics to life for target audiences. 4. Partners with segment marketers to map out content flow, articulate messaging for different audiences, and revise content according to feedback, market insights, or metrics. 5. Generates on-strategy, creative ideas, concepts, and campaigns that drive projects in productive directions. 6. Produces own writing with minimal direct supervision. 7. Presents completed projects or projects in progress and articulates rationale for his or her approach 8. Coaches, motivates, and inspires a team of two (2) writers a. Provides direct, constructive feedback b. Evaluates or helps to evaluate team performance, resolve challenges, and generate performance reviews c. Monitors daily workload 9. Ensures all writing is on-brand, consistent in style and tone of voice, and optimized for user experience in an omnichannel environment, including print, PPT presentations, online, email, mobile, video, and tradeshow. 10. Collaborates cross-functionally with designers, other members of the Creative COE, and associates from across the AmerisourceBergen organization. 11. Serves as a copywriting resource and writing leader for the Creative COE at large; contributes to and participates in COE-wide initiatives. Qualifications: EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience as a writer and content strategist, with significant experience supervising other writers, preferably in an agency, consulting environment, or healthcare institution — Portfolio containing work samples that demonstrate exceptional writing skills and strong conceptual abilities • Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing, or other relevant area • Strong knowledge of marketing principles and best practices • Solid experience writing within complex subject areas, such as healthcare; B2B experience a plus, but not required • Experience developing sales or new business PPT presentations a plus, but not required MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS: • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to articulate ideas to teams of marketers, writers, designers, and corporate leaders • Team player par excellence; capable of forging meaningful relationships across multiple disciplines and experience levels • Able to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment • Desire and excitement to build out a new content-generating capability from the ground up • Quick study; able to rapidly process large amounts of complex information • A champion for quality; able to push teams to new levels of writing excellence within the bounds of resource and time constraints • Basic understanding of digital communications and media channels preferred • Knowledge of AP style a plus, but not required Job: Marketing Jobs
