High School/GED BLS Certification No experience necessary Job Summary The Internal Patient Transporter provides and coordinates with prioritization the delivery system for the Nursing, Diagnostic Imaging, Laboratory, and Medical Record units using a beeper system and close, detailed communication between other internal transport Associates. Requires social maturity and poise to respond appropriately and communicate courteously and effectively with a wide range of internal personnel and general public. Must exhibit the F.I.R.S.T. values (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service, and Trust). Working Conditions, Hazards and Physical Effort Works in a well lighted, ventilated and air conditioned area. Often exposed to unpleasant odors, sights and sounds. Long periods of standing, walking, stooping, heavy lifting and bending are required. Risks; exposure to disease, infection and physical strain, exposure to blood, body fluids and tissue. Must be able to lift 50+ lbs. independently. Typically works a set schedule with occasional overtime. Minimum Qualifications or Equivalents Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Experience: One to three (1-3) years work experience required. Hospital experience preferred. CPR Certified, Gaitbelt Training. EQUIPMENT USED/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:Stretchers, gait belts, wheelchairs, transfer boards, and other types of patient transfer equipment. Must have good body mechanics. Computer skills required. Meditech knowledge preferred. Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations CPR required.
